A new California law would allow the counties of Alameda and Los Angeles to seize recreational vehicles (RVs) deemed inoperable or abandoned as part of a pilot program that will be in effect between January 2026 and January 2030.
Assembly Bill 630, introduced by Mark Gonzalez, authorizes the counties to “streamline the removal” of vehicles valued at $4,000 or less, with the goal of eliminating health and safety hazards posed by RVs parked long-term.
