After 12 years, S.F.’s Mission District sees approval of affordable housing project at BART station

Jose Garcia didn’t have very much time to bask in the glow of victory.

On Wednesday the development director at the Mission Economic Development Agency, known as MEDA, joined colleagues in celebrating a milestone that was 12 years in the making: the funding of La Maravilla, a $110 million supportive housing project at the 16th Street BART station.
