Oakland Police Seize Over 170 Vehicles Linked to Sideshows, Including Cars from Outside the City

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has increased enforcement against illegal sideshows, seizing more than 170 vehicles in 2025. In a recent operation, OPD tracked and confiscated three vehicles linked to an August 2 sideshow at Adeline Street and Market Street. The seizures took place in Redwood City, Petaluma, and Sacramento.

Most of the impounded vehicles were registered outside Oakland, indicating the issue extends beyond the city. OPD states that vehicles involved in sideshows may be towed and held for 30 days.
