A San Francisco man was convicted Tuesday of fatally attacking an 88-year-old grandmother during a spree of violent crimes he carried out in 2019, the District Attorney’s Office said.
A San Francisco jury found Keonte Gathron, 25, guilty of murder in the brutal attack of longtime Visitacion Valley resident Yik Oi Huang — one of many he carried out during a 13-day spree of violent incidents that targeted Asian minors or older adults who spoke little English.
Gathron, who pleaded not guilty to the charges and represented himself during his criminal trial, was also convicted of dozens of other felony crimes — from robbery to carjackings.
