Too Short may be one of the biggest exports of the Bay Area’s hip-hop scene, but he’s planning to play one of its smallest music venues.
The “Blow the Whistle” rapper is trading packed arenas for the small but scrappy stage of Yoshi’s for a six-show residency at the Oakland Japanese restaurant/music venue. The intimate 310-capacity space is scheduled to host the musician and his live band from Nov. 21-23.
The hip-hop hevyweight has been long-recognized as a pioneer of West Coast rap, with 22 studio albums and four gold certifications under his belt. His high energy performances have drawn fans from across generations over the course of his nearly 40-year-long career, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down…
