Bay Area residents can breathe a little easier after a pair of suspects tied to a series of armed robberies have been brought into custody. The crime spree, covering several cities, came to an end thanks to the concerted efforts of local law enforcement agencies. The suspects, identified as Julio Villalobos and Britney Zuniga of Oakland, are now facing multiple felony charges.
The chain of events that led to their capture began on October 20, when a victim reported their work vehicle stolen at approximately 2:20 PM. The victim described the culprits as driving a grey Dodge Challenger, a detail that would later become critical to identifying them. Despite an immediate response, the suspects managed to carry out an armed carjacking later at 1805 Ygnacio Valley Blvd, with descriptions matching the initial incident, the Walnut Creek Police Department reported on their social media post.
