Historic Levi Strauss Family Penthouse in San Francisco Hits Market for $18.5M After Lavish Renovation

A slice of San Francisco’s real estate history, a penthouse once under the ownership of the Levi Strauss lineage, is now listed for $18.5 million. Located in the affluent neighborhood of Pacific Heights, this property underwent a complete overhaul at the hands of its new owner, tech entrepreneur Sreekanth Ravi, who acquired the residence for $6 million in 2021. Ravi’s intent wasn’t originally to sell the penthouse, but circumstances have led to a change of heart, as Mansion Global reported.

The penthouse overhaul turned into a hefty project costing well above the projected $4 million with issues such as one million pounds of debris waiting behind walls and a problem with uneven concrete flooring, which led to a detailed, expensive renovation process completed last December, “The upside of all the work is I got exactly what I wanted,” Ravi explained, per Mansion Global. The building itself dates back to 1926, but Ravi took the opportunity of the top-floor location to push its ceilings to a height of 11 feet, and the property now features exquisite design elements like herringbone oak floors and walnut paneling that serve as a backdrop for a sophisticated art collection…
