SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police are investigating the death of an infant, who was brought to a San Francisco hospital with life-threatening injuries on Sept. 12.
The infant arrived at the hospital on the 1100 block of Van Ness Avenue around 11:50 a.m. Officers with the San Francisco Police Department were called to the hospital around 3:38 a.m. the next day to speak with hospital employees about the baby’s injuries.

“Despite the life-saving efforts of the medical staff, the infant succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the hospital on Nov. 3,” SFPD said. “The SFPD Homicide Detail is now leading the investigation due to the suspicious nature of the death.”
