A San Francisco police officer shot and wounded a man this month after the man hurled a plastic bottle at the officer during a chaotic confrontation in which the man’s unleashed dog was also shot and wounded, law enforcement officials said Tuesday.
The Police Department released body-worn camera footage and held a news conference Tuesday to discuss the Nov. 9 incident on Market and Fourth streets in which the dog also bit an officer and, before that, a bystander.Officers were approached at about 4:25 p.m. on Market Street by a victim who said they’d been bitten by a dog. Moments later, the officers located the dog and its owner and the officer attempted to restrain and arrest him, body camera footage showed.
