Man released from custody after allegedly ‘slashing and slicing’ five victims in S.F. bar fight

San Francisco prosecutors charged a man with assault and mayhem in connection with an incident last month in which five people were stabbed at a bar, officials for the district attorney’s office said Thursday.

District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that Joncarlo Gutierrez, 32, was charged with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of mayhem in the incident in the early morning hours of Oct. 24 at an Inner Richmond bar.

According to court documents, police officers found five victims on the 3900 block of Geary Boulevard who were allegedly “slashed and sliced” by the defendant, who had gotten into an argument with a woman at the bar. Prosecutors said Gutierrez head-butted the woman and then used a boxcutter knife to slash her and other patrons who tried to intervene…
