SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Nearly a decade after a shooting inside his home left one person dead, a San Francisco documentary filmmaker is standing trial.
This week, the filmmaker’s supporters are calling for the District Attorney’s Office to drop all charges against the filmmaker, Kevin Epps. His murder trial began earlier this month, court records show.
A MoveOn.Org petition recently created in support of Epps states, “In 2016, a violent intruder … under the influence of methamphetamine barged unlawfully into Kevin’s home where he lived with his partner and two young children. Fearing for his life and the safety of his family, Kevin defended himself. He shot the intruder, who died from the gunshot wound. He did not flee the scene. He told officers immediately what happened.”…
