Man killed in S.F. Mission District shooting had moved to the city just 1 year earlier, mother says

Kaylyn Tafao Olomua was at a birthday party with his cousin in San Francisco’s Mission District two weeks ago when a fight broke out and Olomua was shot, according to his mother.

Olomua, a 20-year-old man from Alaska, died Nov. 16 while hospitalized following the early morning shooting near 16th and Valencia streets, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Another person was hospitalized, and police arrested Larry Hudgson Jr. as a suspect in the shooting, though Hudgson did not appear in San Francisco county jail logs on Tuesday. A police department spokesperson  said on Monday that officials did not have any further details to share about what remained an open investigation, and little else about the shooting was publicly known as of Tuesday…
