(KRON) — Two people who allegedly stole dozens of Christmas trees in American Canyon were caught and arrested last week, police said. Video shared by the American Canyon Police Department shows an officer appearing to be Santa Claus handcuffing the suspects.
Safeway in American Canyon reported to authorities on December 1 that 24 Christmas trees and two crates of Christmas wreaths had been taken from the front of the store. The stolen holiday items were valued at nearly $2,400, according to ACPD.
Police were provided with surveillance video from days earlier that showed two suspects backing up a pickup truck and loading the trees and wreaths.
Investigating officers identified the suspects as Kayla Daniels, 29, and Joshua Gonzales, 39, both of Vallejo. On December 4, warrants were executed at their residence, where officers located and seized all of the stolen Christmas trees, according to police…
