Sunset Supervisor Alan Wong said Friday that he supports creating a ballot measure to reopen the Upper Great Highway to cars on weekdays, bringing the idea first floated by Supervisor Connie Chan one step closer to reality.
The move immediately stirred up community members on both sides of the controversial issue, which fueled the recall of a sitting supervisor and shows no sign of waning.
Wong’s campaign manager Christian Kropff confirmed his stance on the highway on the same day that Wong announced he would run in the June election.
