SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A suspect has been arrested in the theft of a beloved French Bulldog that was stolen from outside of a San Francisco bar. The canine, a 4-year-old Frenchie named “Hank,” was not recovered in the arrest, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Hank was taken on Wednesday Dec. 10 from outside the 440 Bar in the Castro neighborhood. The incident occurred when Hank’s owner was distracted and the thief profiled them, snatching Hank and fleeing in a vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, the SFPD Burglary Unit identified 44-year-old Dante Shaw of Oakland as a suspect. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for Shaw’s vehicle, SFPD said.
On Wednesday, officers located Shaw in his vehicle at San Carlos Avenue and High Street where he was detained. Officers served the search warrant on the vehicle and seized evidence related to the theft.
