Berkeley woman threatened at knifepoint while calling 911

A Berkeley woman who called 911 during an armed conflict in the street Monday became a target of crime herself, authorities said.

The incident began shortly after 1 p.m. when the Berkeley resident happened upon a woman arguing with someone in the street, both of them armed with knives, Berkeley police said in response to a Scanner inquiry.

As the resident called police, the armed woman stabbed in her direction, BPD said. She was not hurt, but the experience left her shaken…
