San Francisco Resident Charged with Felony Theft After $7,000 Cosmetics Heist, Vallejo and San Pablo Police Collaborate Using GPS Tracking

Last Sunday, officers from the Vallejo Police Department made an arrest following a retail theft involving cosmetics valued at over $7,000. According to a social media post by the Vallejo Police Department, a GPS tracking device, surreptitiously included within one of the stolen items, was key to quickly identifying and apprehending the suspect. A detailed description of the suspect and her vehicle, provided by store employees, enabled officers to relay this information to the San Pablo Police Department, who located the vehicle and detained two individuals.

Authorities leveraged the GPS to keep track of the suspect as she appeared to be heading westbound on I-80. The swift coordination between the Vallejo and San Pablo departments resulted in the recovery of stolen merchandise.
