SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — It has been wet to start the week in San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area. Despite the cold and rain, a flood of people lined up outside of Butter & Crumble in North Beach on Sunday morning.
The popular bakery posted a video on Instagram showing the long line that spanned several blocks, starting on Francisco Street, then wrapping into Stockton Street. Many were seen with camping chairs, weathering wait times up to three hours.
Sunday was the last day Butter & Crumble was open before the bakery takes a hiatus for the Christmas holiday. Even ahead of the final day of business this year, owner Sophie Smith admitted she was “terrified” of how long the lines would be.
