Waymo makes policy change after cars left stalled in San Francisco blackouts

AUTONOMOUS vehicle operator Waymo has made a major policy change following a recent incident involving its cars.

Waymo’s statement on the issue both explained why its cars stalled out after a blackout in San Francisco, and how it plans to correct the issues moving forward.

On Saturday, a fire started at a PG&E substation which ultimately resulted in one-third of San Francisco losing power.
