Numerous people called 911 between 3:45 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. about the sideshow and burning box truck in the area. According to 911 calls, more than 100 spectators were at the illegal event.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded and extinguished the U-Haul truck. SFFD Lt. Mariano Elias told KRON4 News that fire investigators suspect arson.
An Outer Sunset resident who asked to remain anonymous told KRON4 News that he was unable to get through to 911. The resident captured video of the sideshow and burning U-Haul, which he said was rented the day before by his neighbor.
“During this time, there were no police officers present,” the man said. “I attempted to call 911, but was unable to get through for several minutes. The lack of emergency response was alarming given the size and intensity of the crowd.”
