Good Samaritan attacked at San Carlos Caltrain station

(KRON) — A man who allegedly attacked a good Samaritan at a Caltrain station in San Carlos became one of the first people arrested in the Bay Area in 2026.

On New Year’s Day, deputies arrested the Caltrain station suspect, 33-year-old Brian C. Weisl of South San Francisco, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said. He was booked into Maguire Correctional Facility jail on suspicion of felony battery with serious bodily injury and assault.

The train station incident began on December 23, 2025, when a man witnessed Weisl harassing a woman, according to the sheriff’s office. The man “stepped in to help a stranger during their time of need,” SMCSO wrote…
