Fatal crash shuts down I-80 in Vallejo: CHP

(KRON) — A deadly crash between a Honda Accord and a Toyota Prius shut down all westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Vallejo for nearly two hours Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person was killed in the crash and one person suffered major injuries, CHP told KRON4 News. The crash happened east of Redwood Parkway at about 7:43 a.m. All lanes of the highway were reopened at 9:27 a.m.

The driver of the Honda died in the crash. The driver was a man in his 30s, CHP said. His identity has not been released to the public at this time.

A passenger in the Honda was hopsitalized with major injuries, CHP said. The driver of the Prius was also hut in the crash and was taken to the hopsital as a precuation.
