Family of man killed in Oakland triple homicide starts GoFundMe

(KRON) — The family of one of the three people killed in a shooting at an Oakland market around 3 a.m. Saturday has started a GoFundMe to help pay for his funeral expenses.

The victim, Miguel Ramirez Rivera, was “in the wrong place at the wrong time” when he was shot to death at Sky Market on the 8400 block of International Boulevard, the family said.

“This loss was sudden, violent, and completely unexpected,” the GoFundMe reads. “One moment he was here, and the next he was gone. No warning. No chance to say goodbye. Our hearts are broken, and we’re doing our best to lean on God to get through this pain.”

Officers with the Oakland Police Department responded to the market that morning and found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The third died later at a Bay Area hospital.

OPD has not announced any arrests in the case or identified any of the victims. The shooting remains under investigation…
