A Union Pacific Railroad freight train struck and killed a person in Berkeley on Sunday, according to the railroad company.
The train struck a person trespassing on the railroad track near Hearst Avenue and Fourth Street around 11:45 a.m., said Union Pacific Railroad spokesperson Kristen South. The person died at the scene, South said.
