San Francisco Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at 16th and San Bruno Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – On January 15, 2026, officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the vicinity of 16th Street and San Bruno Avenue. Upon arrival at approximately 9:42 p.m., responding officers located an individual suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Department personnel initiated medical aid, which included performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Paramedics subsequently arrived at the location to provide further lifesaving measures. Despite the efforts of the first responders and medical personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail has assumed the lead role in the investigation. As of now, the investigation remains open and active as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
