California’s recent earthquake activity and chances of ‘The Big One’

Good morning.

As Californians, we know earthquakes — small and big — come with the territory. But even if we’ve grown somewhat used to feeling those temblors (yep, still not a fan), it doesn’t make them any less unnerving.

Over the past few weeks, our state has experienced many quakes, including the most recent cluster that rattled the Bay Area on Monday, Feb. 2. That’s when a 3.8-magnitude earthquake hit near San Ramon, followed by two more tremors at slightly lower magnitudes, and then one that registered a magnitude of 4.2…
