‘Pathetic’ pro-ICE billboard removed from Fisherman’s Wharf, supervisor says

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A controversial billboard promoting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that appeared in San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf earlier this week has been removed. The digital billboard, which was located above a souvenir shop near the popular tourist destination, turned heads at the corner of Jefferson and Mason streets.

The billboard featured three different ICE ads that were rotated through on a cycle. Each of the ads referenced the Super Bowl, with one reading, “Defensive player of the year: ICE,” and showing at ICE agent holding a trophy.

“Cheering because the home team finally started investing in defense,” read another showing ICE agents in riot gear lined up along the border wall.

“They can’t win without defense. Neither can America,” read another, showing a split-screen with football players on one side and ICE agents on the other.

“I’m glad to share that the billboard ads supporting ICE that popped up in Fisherman’s Wharf earlier this week have been removed,” Sauter wrote on Instagram…
