SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Years before Nemesio Ruben “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes became one of the most wanted cartel leaders in the world, his criminal career reportedly started on the streets of San Francisco.
Oseguera Cervantes was born in 1966 in Aguililla, Michoacan, Mexico. His first documented arrested happened when he was 19 years old in 1986, when San Francisco police busted him for drug-related crimes, the Los Angeles Times reported. In 1992, he was arrested in SF again for selling heroin to undercover officers, the Times reported.
“El Mencho” was convicted of conspiracy to distribute heroin in U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California two years later, and he served nearly three years in prison. He was deported from the U.S…
