Krystal Murphy was sitting down for Christmas dinner last year when her daughter rushed into their East Oakland house to say her brother, Khalil Johnson, was missing. Murphy grabbed her car keys and went out to search for him.
Khalil had been playing outside on a new scooter with his cousin when he apparently vanished, Murphy said.
