Ikea’s struggling Saluhall SF food hall loses another vendor, now down to just 3

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Ikea’s struggling San Francisco food hall is set to lose another vendor. Cheezy’s Artisan Pizza, which opened in the Saluhall food hall in Mid-Market a year ago, will serve its last slice at the location Friday.

The artisan pizzeria and cafe was opened by award-winning pizza maker David Jacobson and his partner Raluca Romero. Jacobson came into the operation following stints at Flour + Water, Delfina, Benchmark Pizzeria, and Pizza My Heart.

He’s a grand prize winner in the Real CA Pizza Contest who competed on the US Pizza Team. According to Cheezy’s website, he’s been working with his partner Romero since 2016. The restaurant was named for the couple’s dog, “Cheezy,” who was also its namesake.

However, despite Jacobson’s illustrious Bay Area pizza pedigree, the couple is throwing in the towel on Saluhall after one year after apparently having their business license revoked…
