One of San Francisco’s most popular — and pricey — grocery stores is planning another location.
Bi-Rite, the upscale market with three locations across the city, has signed a lease on a building at 6001 California St. in the Outer Richmond. The building has 3,481 square feet of retail space, according to marketing materials (opens in new tab).
The expansion comes less than two years after Bi-Rite opened a 4,000-square-foot location, its largest, on Polk Street. That followed the second location on Divisadero more than a decade prior. At the time, founding partner Sam Mogannam teased plans to roll out additional Bi-Rite stores before 2030, including “two to three more markets in the Bay Area.”…
