Suspect in ‘random’ S.F. Chinatown stabbing charged with attempted murder

A 37-year-old San Francisco man who allegedly stabbed another man at a crosswalk in Chinatown last week in a seemingly random, unprovoked attack that drew widespread attention online has been charged with attempted murder, officials said Monday.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced the criminal charge against Jian Feng Huang during a press conference, in which she reassured the public that “we do not believe there is an ongoing threat thanks to the apprehension.”
