Il Porto Coming to San Francisco’s Waterfront

Il Porto, a new waterfront cafe from restaurateur and tech investor Eduardo Rallo, is getting ready to open in San Francisco at Pier 31’s Alcatraz Landing.

The cafe is expected to open in June 2026, according to the San Francisco Standard. Il Porto will occupy roughly 3,760 square feet provided by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and will include sit-down service, outdoor seating, a public patio, and a smaller terrace near the Embarcadero. Customers can expect sandwiches, pizza, and other casual fare, with a potential full bar program if a Type 47 liquor license is approved. The space is designed to serve both Alcatraz ferry riders and general Embarcadero visitors.

Eduardo Rallo is a local restaurateur and tech investor, founder of Brainstorm Ventures, and co-founder of World Wrapps. He also operates Colibrí at the Presidio Officers’ Club and Il Parco at the Presidio Tunnel Tops. Brainstorm Ventures has invested in OpenTable and Zappos, giving Rallo extensive experience in both hospitality and operational strategy.
