Robber targets two North Bay banks Tuesday

(KRON) — A 61-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly robbed two banks within minutes of each other in Marin County on Tuesday, according to authorities.

The first bank robbery was reported at 9:48 a.m. to the Central Marin Police Authority. Police said the suspect, later identified as San Rafael resident William Corneal Horton, entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 100 Bon Air Center in Greenbrae and furnished a demand note. Bank employees were led to believe that the suspect was armed with a handgun.

Minutes later, another bank robbery was reported to authorities that occurred at the Bank of America at 663 Tamalpais Drive in Corte Madera.

“Officers quickly learned that the suspect in both robberies was possibly the same individual based on the provided descriptions,” Central Marin Police said. “The witnesses also provided a vague description of the suspect’s vehicle as it fled.”…
