Bay Area pays tribute to fallen service members at Memorial Day gatherings

People across the Bay Area gathered Monday to pay their respects to the nation’s fallen service members during various Memorial Day events.

At San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio, the annual Memorial Day gathering came with added significance. This July, the United States will celebrate 250 years since its founding. In September, the Presidio will celebrate 250 years since being established as a Spanish garrison.
