Inside Apple’s enormous $5 billion, 2.8-million-square-foot HQ that has no air conditioning

Apple’s corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California, is a massive complex that runs without heating or air conditioning for most of the year.

Known as Apple Park, the complex spans 2.82 million square feet and can accommodate up to 15,000 employees. The complex opened in April 2017 and is the “world’s largest naturally ventilated building, projected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year,” Apple said in a statement at the time.
