A motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital with major injuries after crashing into a vehicle in Santa Cruz County on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. and had shut down one lane of traffic for about an hour on Highway 9 south of Shingle Mill.
