Suspect arrested after car strikes 8 pedestrians after Oakland First Friday

Alameda County prosecutors have charged a man with attempted murder after what they described as an intentional vehicle attack that injured several pedestrians after Oakland’s First Friday gathering in May.

Dameon Denzel Clay was charged with the May 2 incident in Uptown Oakland, District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced Monday. Oakland police said Clay was arrested Thursday with help from the U.S. Marshals Service.

The case stems from a chaotic early morning scene in the 500 block of 18th Street, where police said a vehicle drove onto a sidewalk and struck eight pedestrians…
