Man causes $90,000 in damage to San Jose courthouses: sheriff

(KRON) — A man who authorities said caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage to San Jose courthouses on Sunday was arrested for felony vandalism, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at 8:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a man who was throwing rocks at glass doors and windows of the Family Justice Courthouse at 201 North First Street. It was discovered that the same suspect vandalized planter boxes in front of the Superior Courthouse across the street at 191 North First Street.

The estimated damages are close to $90,000, authorities said.
