Firefighters quickly knocked down a 1-acre brush fire Sunday morning in the hills of southeast San Jose.
Crews from Cal Fire and the San Jose Fire Department responded just before 7 a.m. to reports of a vegetation fire near Metcalf Road. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a 1-acre blaze sending a large plume of smoke into the air that was visible across parts of South San Jose.
