(KRON) — Firefighters in San Jose are responding Thursday morning to a duplex fire on Union Avenue, according to the San Jose Fire Department.
Fire crews were dispatched at 5:56 a.m. to the residential blaze at 2912 Union Avenue. The response escalated to a second alarm, and the fire in the attic continued to burn as of 6:42 a.m., SJFD said.
At 7 a.m., fire officials said crews were withdrawing from the inside of the home after the roof collapsed. Firefighters are moving to defensive operations with aerial water streams.
All occupants of the duplex were able to get out, according to officials.
