Having grown up in Alameda, I’m honestly surprised it took me until college to discover this monthly flea market. Held on the first Sunday of every month at Alameda Point, the market is huge, with hundreds of vendors spread across the former Naval Air Station, and offers a world-class view of the San Francisco skyline.
The experience is partly a game of strategy and timing. If you want first pick of the good stuff, you can pay $20 for admission and start shopping as early as 6 am. If you’re more interested in browsing than beating everyone to the best find, admission drops to $5 after 1 pm…
