A 33-year-old California woman is facing two counts of first-degree murder after prosecutors said she killed two of her best friends in separate attacks about 90 minutes apart, first inside a San Jose home and then outside an apartment complex in Milpitas.
Both victims were mothers, and Deputy District Attorney Marisa McKeown said their families are now struggling not only with the deaths themselves, but also with the question of why someone they knew so closely would allegedly turn against them.
