Daniel Zhengyu Qin, the 35-year-old San Jose man who died after a fishing boat crashed into rocks near the Golden Gate Bridge last week, was a software engineer at Apple and the father of three young children, according to a fundraiser created for his family.
Qin was one of three people aboard the boat when it struck rocks near Lime Point beside the bridge’s north tower shortly after 6 a.m. Sept. 17. The vessel began to capsize, sending two people into the water before rescuers arrived.
