Santa Clara County’s newest health clinic on the border of San Jose and Campbell is its largest, combining more than a dozen services under one roof.
The Valley Health Center campus at 1410 S. Bascom Ave. opens Sept. 28 and will provide adult medicine, urgent care, pediatric primary care, dental care, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health care and more. The facility features large windows that offer sweeping views of San Jose’s rolling hills.
Bookended by multiple apartment complexes and a stone’s throw from the VTA Bascom station, officials said the location makes services accessible for thousands of county residents — including 11,000 households within walking distance of the clinic.
“I love the accessibility of this, which is what we’re all about. It doesn’t matter how great your services are if people cannot get to the facility,” Supervisor Susan Ellenberg, whose District 4 includes the new clinic, told San José Spotlight. “There’s a tremendous range of services here. It allows us to spread more, so that patients are not having to wait months for appointments.”
Construction of the facility took four years, which transformed the former commercial complex into a 10-story hospital building. The county originally leased the space from HSRE-PMB San Jose, but decided to purchase the site from the LLC in January for $340 million, financed through a 30-year revenue bond.
