San Jose is waking to cloudy skies and temperatures around 59 degrees Thursday morning, but the gray start will not last. Sunshine is expected to push the city close to 90 degrees this afternoon, setting up an even hotter weekend across the South Bay.
The National Weather Service forecasts sunny conditions Thursday with light northwest winds, followed by a partly cloudy night and a low near 60. Friday should remain mostly cloudy but warm, with another high near 90 and no rain in sight.
Saturday Brings The Peak Heat
The hottest day of the stretch is expected Saturday, when San Jose could reach 96 degrees under sunny skies. Sunday should stay nearly as hot at 95, followed by highs around 92 Monday and Tuesday and 91 Wednesday.
Overnight lows will offer only partial relief, ranging from the low 60s Thursday night to the upper 60s over the weekend. Inland neighborhoods will run much warmer than coastal locations, where a compressed marine layer may keep mornings cooler and cloudier.
Dry Conditions Raise Fire-Weather Concerns
