Pace of Bay Area tech layoffs slows as Workday reveals new job cuts

PLEASANTON — Workday revealed a fresh round of local job cuts as the overall pace of Bay Area tech industry layoffs has slowed in recent months.

Workday intends to shed 142 workers on Nov. 30 at its corporate headquarters in Pleasanton, the cloud-based software services company reported to the state Employment Development Department. The cuts are expected to be permanent.
