An Oakland man was arrested this week in connection with a 2024 hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on Interstate 580, authorities said Thursday.
The fatal wreck occurred around 6 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2024 when two cars struck a pedestrian on I-580 near 167th Avenue in unincorporated Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One driver — later identified as 33-year-old Tielee Phillips of Oakland — fled the scene on foot while the other remained with the pedestrian to call 911, the CHP said…
