Japanese Curry Chain CoCo Ichibanya Is Building Its First Cupertino Outpost

A Japanese curry chain with more than a thousand locations around the globe is quietly setting up shop in Cupertino, and a hiring listing has let the secret out early. The news surfaced through a job posting on Craigslist, first reported by The Business Journals, seeking servers and bussers for the new restaurant. The listing states the company is “opening its first Northern California location in Cupertino,” and describes the restaurant as currently under construction. It also notes the business is hiring for full-time and part-time positions covering both day and evening shifts.

According to the same posting, paid training for new hires is expected to begin in mid-November.

The snippet is brief and does not offer further detail on permit status or project scope, but it does line up with the idea that build-out work tied to the restaurant is already underway in the city.
