Shots fired at deputies during Oakland eviction standoff

( KRON ) — Shots were fired at Alameda County Sheriff’s deputies who were serving an eviction in Oakland Tuesday afternoon, law enforcement officials confirmed. Deputies with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Civil Unit were in the 8200 block of Outlook Avenue for an eviction.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were approaching the front of the residence when they heard a “loud pop consistent with gunfire.”

The deputies retreated and called for backup. A tactical team with the Oakland Police Department responded and assumed control of the incident, police said.

OPD investigators from the Homicide Section took over the crime scene to begin a follow-up investigation into the shooting, police said. No deputies or officers were injured as a result of the shooting.
